We asked this mother of two to share pictures from quarantine and discuss the closing of her beloved boutique Pas Mal. (And we asked some fun stuff, like what she was wearing when she met her husband Scott in 2008.)

My Uniform: Super Smalls Founder, Maria Dueñas Jacobs

We photographed New York City-based Maria Dueñas Jacobs in her home before the city started sheltering in place. Her West Village apartment is a dreamy spot, clearly loved and lived in by someone with exquisite taste and a playful nature, which certainly extends to the designs she creates for her children's accessories line, Super Smalls. As a mother to three girls, she certainly knows a thing or two about jewelry that makes kids freak out. As always, we wanted to know how she developed her enviable style—and, since we spoke with her after our world changed, we were also curious to see how she was coping with the new (temporary!) normal. And to steal some of her tips!

My Uniform: Photographer Alice Gao

NY-based Photographer Alice Gao, needless to say, has an eye. And this extends well beyond her camera lens (though we love the evocative images she captures for the likes of WSJ, Kinfolk and her online journal, Aperçu). Her personal style—thoughtful, considered and refreshingly simple—is on a bit of a parallel path with her imagery. It doesn’t scream “look at me!” but it certainly commands attention. It isn’t something you could put into a box but at one point of her life she was labeled “Denim Queen” thanks to her amassed collection of 30 to 40 pairs of jeans. How this morphed into the Alice Gao of today? We’ll let her explain...
